Group classes allow you to learn many different dances and to interact with other students who are at a similar level. Changing partners regularly keeps the lessons lively, allows everyone to participate, and helps you learn more rapidly. In addition to lively social interaction, the lower cost of group classes makes them a good option for those who may be on a tighter budget.
Introduction to Ballroom and Social Dancing
Thursdays at 7:00 PM
As a prerequisite to the beginner class, this class does not focus on only one dance, and can easily be joined at any time during the month. You will learn the basic steps of several popular dances while being introduced to the fundamentals of leading and following.
Mondays at 7:00 PM
Here you will build on what you learned in Introduction to Ballroom and Social Dancing. You will add more patterns, be introduced to additional dances, and continue to develop skill as a leader or a follower. Waltz, foxtrot, tango, slow lounge, rumba, cha cha, swing, and mambo/salsa are explored on a rotating basis.
Thursdays at 6:00 PM
Once you have developed a strong base you will want to focus more on technique and style. We facilitate this by spending more time on each dance, and we also introduce new dances that are not covered in the beginner syllabus.
